PPU, Agastya Foundation ink MoU for student internship

Patna: Patliputra University (PPU) on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Agastya Foundation to provide free internship opportunities to nearly 8,000 students pursuing degree-level studies under the four-year choice-based credit system (CBCS).According to PPU registrar Abu Bakar, the internships will be offered in accordance with the provisions of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasises experiential learning and skill development as integral components of higher education. The MoU was signed at the university headquarters by vice-chancellor Prof Upendra Prasad Singh on behalf of the university and Agastya Foundation director Ramji Raghwan, he said.Speaking on the occasion, Singh said the collaboration would help bridge the gap between academic learning and practical exposure, enhancing students’ employability and overall professional competence. “Such initiatives are essential for preparing students to meet the demands of a rapidly changing job market,” he added.Raghwan said the Agastya Foundation is committed to supporting students through meaningful internship experiences that foster innovation, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving skills.PPU dean of students’ welfare (DSW) Rajeev Ranjan said the internship programmes would be rolled out in phases and cover students across various undergraduate disciplines. The initiative is expected to benefit students by providing hands-on experience alongside their academic curriculum, he added.
