Jaipur: Rajasthan high court has dismissed a writ petition filed by a judicial officer challenging a punishment order dated Aug 5, 2013, under which the full court imposed stoppage of three annual grade increments due to him.The disciplinary action stemmed from allegations linked to two civil suits in which the petitioner’s father, an advocate, was a defendant in one case and counsel for defendants in the other.

As per the charges, the petitioner approached the presiding officer of the Court of ADJ (FT), Jaipur City, to interfere in the judicial proceedings. The act was treated as misconduct and unbecoming of a judicial officer.Appearing for registrar general of Rajasthan high court, a senior counsel said the enquiry judge found the charges proved in a report dated April 17, 2013, warranting the penalty imposed on Aug 5, 2013. Counsel for the petitioner argued the case was baseless and said the petitioner had an unblemished service record since his appointment in 1996.
