Chennai: The Tamil Nadu unit of the BJP has revised the tour plan of its manifesto committee by grouping assembly constituencies into clusters. Under this plan, senior leaders will travel within defined zones covering 6 to 12 assembly seats each. Party leaders said the change aims to improve coordination and reduce travel strain. The move comes after the logistical issues to be faced by the committee were flagged.Under the revised plan, former BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan will oversee collection of public input for preparing BJP manifesto across 16 assembly constituencies in Chennai. Similarly other leaders have been allocated assembly segments which are closer to each other.
Former state president K Annamalai, who quit election tour work citing personal reasons, was not assigned a cluster in the manifesto team. BJP state spokesperson ANS Prasath, a member of the manifesto team, said working in clusters allowed better engagement and data collection.
