HYDERABAD: In a major relief to the state govt and over 500 Group I officers recently appointed by the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC), a division bench of the Telangana high court on Thursday set aside a single judge order and allowed appeals filed by the Commission and successful candidates.A single judge had on Sep 9,2025 set aside the results of the TGPSC Group-1 Mains examination announced on March 10 and the general rank list of the candidates published on March 30. The judge passed the orders while hearing petitions filed by unsuccessful candidates alleging irregularities in the conduct of the examination and the results process.Delivering the verdict in appeals challenging this order, a division bench of Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice GM Mohiuddin said the common judgement passed by the single judge in the writ petitions is set aside and the writ appeals are allowed on the basis of the elaborate reasons recorded.“The decision of the single judge insisting upon reconduct of mains examination is fit to be dismissed,” the bench said.It may be noted that the bench had on September 25, 2025 ordered an interim suspension on the single judge order and permitted the Commission to go ahead with issuing appointment orders to successful candidates, while making it clear that such appointments would be subject to the outcome of writ appeals pending in the matter.
