The invention of the train is credited to George Stephenson, an English engineer. He built the first successful steam locomotive named “Locomotion No. 1” in 1825 for the Stockton and Darlington Railway in England.
However, the concept of rail transport and early steam locomotives was also developed by other pioneers like Richard Trevithick, who built the first full-scale working railway steam locomotive in 1804.
