Woman found murdered in Jalaun

Kanpur: A 55-year-old woman was found murdered in village Kharra Harkauti in Kotwali area of Jalaun on Wednesday morning, police said.Villagers found the doors of her house open around 9am. On getting no response from inside they entered and found blood stains, a slipper and broken bangles in the courtyard and informed her nephew Pawan Kumar. After searching the woman’s nude body was found in a field about 50 metres away from the house.

On being informed, Additional Superintendent of Police Pradeep Kumar Verma and the police, along with a forensic team, reached the spot. Police said, the woman lived alone and earned her livelihood by goat rearing. It is being assumed that she was murdered on Tuesday night by being hit with a heavy object on her head in her house and later her body was thrown into the field.Kotwali in-charge Anand Kumar Singh reached carried out an investigation. Superintendent of Police Durgesh Kumar inspected the crime scene and said four teams were formed to solve the case and arrest the accused.“The deceased has two sons, who work and live in Delhi and Surat and four daughters, all married. They have been informed about the case. The woman’s nephew has filed a murder case against unknown persons. Police have started investigating the entire matter and the body has been sent for post-mortem.” There was no evidence of rape, said police.“She was hit on her head with a heavy object. No evidence of rape has come to light. The accused will be arrested soon,” said the SP.
