Hyderabad: Telangana Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy was among eight members suspended from the Lok Sabha for the remainder of the Budget session on Tuesday. Addressing the media outside Parliament, the MP referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “surrender Modi” and accused him of surrendering to US President Donald Trump.Kiran Reddy said the suspensions followed events during the motion of thanks to the President’s address in Lok Sabha, when Rahul Gandhi was speaking. He alleged that the leader of the opposition was repeatedly interrupted and that his microphone was cut off. He also claimed that the speaker allowed another member to speak before Rahul Gandhi could complete his speech.
“When Rahul Gandhi’s microphone was cut off, MPs went to the speaker’s podium to ask why it had been disconnected, and we were suspended for questioning the speaker’s action,” he said.He further alleged that whenever Rahul Gandhi tried to speak the truth on several occasions, NDA members behaved in a manner that led to the adjournment of the session. He said the BJP was misleading the public by claiming that the session was being adjourned because of Congress MPs, and asserted that the suspension of the eight MPs was deliberate. He accused the BJP of trying to silence their voices and prevent them from questioning the govt’s wrongdoings.Kiran Reddy said that while the BJP and NDA could suspend them and prevent them from speaking in the house, other MPs from the Congress and its allies would continue to question the govt in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. He added that the eight suspended MPs would continue to question the govt outside the Parliament on different platforms. The eight MPs were suspended after they rushed into the well of the house and threw papers towards the speaker.
