Bengaluru: A 28-year-old area manager employed with a chicken retail chain was seriously injured after being stabbed twice by two bike-borne assailants near Devegowda petrol bunk at Channamma Circle in Banashankari on Jan 31.The victim, Pradeep K, underwent surgery and is out of danger, police said.
A resident of VK Ramanna Block in north Bengaluru, Pradeep was returning home on his motorcycle after attending the inauguration of a new outlet in JP Nagar. The attack occurred between 8.20pm and 8.30pm while he was riding on the flyover near the petro bunk. According to a complaint filed by his elder brother Mahadeva K with Banashankari police, he received a call around 8.45pm from an unidentified person informing him that Pradeep had been stabbed and admitted to a private hospital in Padmanabhanagar. Mahadeva rushed to the hospital at 9.15pm and found his brother with two deep stab wounds on the back. Pradeep told his brother that two men on a motorcycle approached him on the flyover and suddenly stabbed him in the back. He rode to the end of the flyover and slowed down to check the injury when the assailants returned and stabbed him again on the left side of his back. Pradeep fell from his bike due to profuse bleeding, after which the attackers fled the scene. Pradeep said he could not note the registration number of the motorcycle or identify the assailants as they were wearing helmets. Police said they are checking CCTV footage and trying to nab the miscreants.
