Ghaziabad: Samajwadi Party workers on Monday staged a protest outside the DM’s office, alleging people posing as BLOs were forcing villagers to fill Form 7 applications for targeted deletion of names from electoral rolls.Form 7 is filed to raise an objection against an existing name in the voter list or when someone opposes a new registration made through Form 6.SP’s district unit president Faisal Hussain alleged BJP office-bearers and workers were orchestrating a district-wide conspiracy to remove the names of SP supporters by submitting large numbers of Form 7s with pre-printed voter names and EPIC numbers. “Pressure is being exerted on BLOs and electoral registration officers to process these applications without following due procedure,” he claimed. SP has submitted a memorandum to the DM alleging at booth numbers 63, 64 and 66 in Sadar assembly segment, Form 7s were being submitted for voters, who completed enumeration with their names included in the draft rolls. At Nahal in Dhaulana constituency, they claimed three persons, claiming to be associated with BLOs, were caught trying to get residents to sign Form 7s on the pretext of a voter awareness campaign. DM Ravindra Mander said election officials would look into the allegations.
