Prayagraj: Pratapgarh police on Monday arrested as many as 23 persons, including 14 men and 9 women for attacking police, damaging govt property, and conspiring to attack Manikpur police station.Police said that a group of 25-30 unidentified people made an abortive bid to block traffic near Sahumai village on Prayagraj–Lucknow highway, in Pratapgarh on Sunday in protest against death of a 22-year-old man who was allegedly poisoned to death by three of his acquaintances. Despite registering an FIR under section 103(1) of BNS against three persons, the protesters pelted stones at police and damaged police vehicles. Two cops were reportedly injured in the incident.
