Hyderabad: The Telangana high court dismissed a petition by BRS MLA and former minister Ch Malla Reddy, his son Mahender Reddy, and his son-in-law and BRS MLA Marri Rajashekar Reddy, seeking to halt a survey of disputed land in Jeedimetla. The conflict centred on 6,243 square yards of land in Medchal-Malkajgiri district. The BRS leaders argued that the land in question was legally purchased from M/s Dulichand Silk Mills, while their opponent, Seri Srinivas Reddy, a software employee, claimed ownership of 0.33 guntas within the same survey number.Srinivas Reddy alleged that the MLAs used ‘muscle power’ and political influence to block his access to the property. His counsel argued that the BRS leaders constructed commercial complexes along the roadside specifically to wall off the remaining land.Conversely, the MLAs and their family claimed it was the opponent who obstructed them. They approached the court to stop a revenue department survey — originally ordered by a single-judge bench — that aimed to demarcate the property boundaries.Hearing both sides, the Division Bench, comprising Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya and Justice Gadi Praveen Kumar, refused to interfere with the order directing a survey of the disputed land and dismissed the petitions, clearing the way for the Revenue Department to proceed with the survey and clearly define the land boundaries.
