Rajkumar, deputy commissioner posted in SGST, told the cyber police station that he was going to Ghaziabad on 14 November 2024, during which a call came on mobile at around 8 pm in the name of Jio Customer Care. The caller said that your e -sim phone has to be activated. If not done, the phone will be closed in 24 hours.

He refused. From there, the phone was disconnected and then the call came that their phone would be closed. After this, a link was sent to activate the e-SIM on the officer’s mobile. During this time he was asked to generate OTP. According to the officer, when he clicked on the link, he asked for the OTP, then the caller asked the OTP. They called him OTP. After some time the phone stopped working on its own. According to the officer, his phone started to be operated from the remote.

Messages and calls on mobile were also stopped. According to the officer, whenever he tries to do something on the mobile, he used to hang.
