Ludhiana: The practical examinations have been started in the government schools across Ludhiana district. The exams started on Monday and are scheduled to continue until Feb 12. However, the students and teachers have expressed their concerns regarding the scheduling and timing of the practical exams as many of them feel that this time should have been used for the preparations for the upcoming final theory exams and practical exams should have been conducted after that.
Many students and teachers believe that the current academic schedule for exams will leave them with insufficient time for adequate preparation of the finals.Various students have stated that they were currently facing pressure while appearing for the ongoing practical exams and along with this, preparation for the final exams as that would be held right after. The government school teachers from across the district have also agreed with the students.“There was very less time for the students to prepare for the final examinations as the academic schedule was disrupted many times this year due to weather conditions and extension of the school winter holidays. Concerns were raised earlier as well regarding rescheduling of the practical exams, but it was not addressed,” said a government school teacher from Ludhiana.“We agree with the students about short preparation time concerns. During winter holidays extension period, even the online classes began late and not all students can fully access or understand the concepts in the online classroom medium. We can only hope for the best now as the practicals have been started already.”
