Bhalla presents guv’s award for arts, music & literature

Dimapur: Nagaland governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla presented the Governor’s Award 2025 for distinction in the fields of arts, music, and literature at a formal ceremony held at Lok Bhavan in Kohima on Monday.He said the event honours not only individual excellence but also the enduring power of creativity to inspire, uplift, and unite communities.

The governor said Nagaland is blessed with extraordinary cultural wealth, reflected in its traditions, languages, folklore, music, and artistic expressions. He emphasised that arts and literature in the state are deeply woven into everyday life and represent the living memory and soul of its people.Highlighting the importance of creative disciplines in a rapidly changing world, Bhalla said artists, musicians, and writers serve both as custodians of heritage and pioneers of new thought. “Through their work, they help society progress while preserving its roots,” he remarked.Congratulating the awardees, Bhalla said their success reflects perseverance, passion, and purpose, and sends a strong message to the youth that commitment to creative pursuits is both noble and nation-building.This year’s awardees include Mannyei Konyak from Mon and Guru Rarenbenba from Mokokchung in arts, Colored Keys from Chumoukedima and Moko Koza of Phek district in music, and Vishu Rita Krocha in literature.
