Alwar: Sunday marked a significant gathering of the Kshatriya community in Khedli, Alwar district, as the Eastern Rajasthan Kshatriya Mahasamagam brought together thousands of participants from nearly 10 districts, including Alwar, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Karauli, Dausa, Jaipur, Sikar, and Jhunjhunu. Members from 39 assembly constituencies united to advocate for their demands related to political representation, educational and employment opportunities, and Economic Weaker Sections (EWS) reservation.The Mahasamagam saw community members collectively voicing their aspirations and grievances. Among the key demands, participants called for an increase in political representation for the Kshatriya community in Eastern Rajasthan. They emphasised the need for an education and employment revolution to uplift their societal standing, as well as a proposal to raise EWS reservation from the current 10% to 20%.
During the event, participants engaged in a foot march to the Khedli sub-tehsil office to submit a memorandum outlining their demands to the sub-divisional officer. Addressing a gathering under the aegis of the Samajik Ekta Manch, chief guest Meghraj Singh Royal, chairman of the United Global Peace Foundation, underscored the importance of education and employment as the bedrock for community progress.
