Man strangles wife in Nalanda village
A 31-year-old woman, Aarti Devi, was allegedly murdered by her husband, Mithlesh Yadav, in Nalanda district. Reports indicate frequent domestic disputes, with the husband reportedly returning home drunk and strangling Aarti to death before fleeing. The accused, recently released on bail, is now being sought by police after the body was discovered. Investigations are ongoing.

Patna: A 31-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband in Mehnaur village under Deepnagar police station area in Nalanda district on Saturday night.The deceased was identified as Aarti Devi. Her husband Mithlesh Yadav often used to quarrel with her. Her brother, Chandeshwar Yadav, alleged that Mithlesh frequently assaulted Aarti after consuming alcohol and had been jailed last month following a complaint filed by her at Deepnagar police station.

According to the complaint, on Saturday night Mithlesh returned home drunk, locked the room from inside, beat Aarti, and then strangled her to death before fleeing. Her body was recovered from the house on Sunday morning.Aarti was married to Mithlesh in 2012; she hailed from Gorma village in Silao police station area. The couple had two children—an eight-year-old son and a six-year-old daughter.Additional SHO Vimlesh Kumar said Mithlesh, who was released on bail eight days ago, is accused of murder by strangulation. Police have got the postmortem done. Raids are being carried out to arrest the accused, added Kumar.
