PATIALA: Gurinder Singh Dhillon, head of Radha Soami Satsang Beas (RSSB), met senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia at the New Nabha Jail today, in a development that stirred political and religious circles in Punjab. The meeting took place between 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM and lasted 30 minutes. It marked the second time in five months that Dhillon visited Majithia in prison.Speaking briefly to the media outside the prison complex after the meeting, Dhillon offered personal support for Majithia. When questioned about the cases Majithia faced, including drug-related allegations, Dhillon said, “All allegations against him are false. He is my friend, and I will continue to meet him (Mera Dost hai. Mai Milunga).”Dhillon avoided commenting on the specifics of the legal cases or the details of their conversation, but said Majithia appeared to be in “high spirits and happy” despite his incarceration.Majithia, a former Punjab cabinet minister and brother-in-law of SAD (B) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, was in judicial custody following his arrest by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) in June last year. The primary case involved allegations of laundering approximately Rs 540 crore of “drug money”. The Vigilance Bureau filed a 40,000-page chargesheet in a Mohali court, alleging Majithia used shell companies and foreign entities to funnel illicit funds. The legal battle dated back to December 2021, when Majithia was booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act based on a 2018 Special Task Force (STF) report. He previously spent over five months in Patiala Jail before he was granted bail in August 2022, and he was re-arrested in 2025 in the disproportionate assets case.A week ago, the Vigilance Bureau in January this year, filed a supplementary chargesheet against a close aide of Majithia.Dhillon earlier met Majithia at Nabha Jail on September 23, 2025, in a meeting that lasted about 35 minutes. The visits were underscored by personal connections, as Dhillon had close family ties with Majithia’s wife, Ganieve Kaur Majithia, the MLA from Majitha.Political analysts viewed Dhillon’s repeated visits as a powerful optic that potentially influenced public perception of the case in a state where the Radha Soami Satsang Beas commanded a massive following.
