Dibrugarh: In a boost to modern policing and scientific crime investigation, Dibrugarh police on Saturday inducted a state-of-the-art mobile forensic van from the CID in Guwahati, marking a new chapter in the district’s law enforcement capabilities.The mobile forensic van represents an advancement in providing on-site forensic support, enabling investigators to conduct scientific examinations at crime scenes without the delays associated with transporting evidence to centralised laboratories. This capability is expected to enhance the speed and accuracy of criminal investigations in the district. Equipped with advanced tools for DNA sampling, fingerprint lifting and the analysis of blood splatters and ballistic evidence, the mobile unit allows forensic experts to begin their work the moment they arrive at a crime scene, rather than waiting for samples to be transported to distant laboratories.
