19-year-old dies as truck hits his bike in Wakad | Pune News

Pune: A 19-year-old daily worker died after his scooter was hit by a truck at the Kalewadi Phata signal in Wakad on Friday afternoon.The Wakad police identified the deceased as Hisanoor Shaikh, who currently resided in Thergaon and hailed from Dakshinpara in West Bengal.The police arrested the truck driver on the charge of causing death by negligence.An officer from the Wakad police said the accident happened around 12.30pm, when Shaikh was driving towards Kaspte Vasti from Kalewadi. While he was near the Kalewadi Phata signal, the truck hit his scooter. “Shaikh lost his balance and came under the wheels of the truck. He died of severe head injuries,” the officer said.
