Minimum temp likely to drop on Feb 6-7: IMD

Mumbai: The ongoing brief spell of hot and humid weather conditions for Mumbai is expected to stay till at least Feb 4. According to IMD, the minimum temperature, which has been hovering around 20°C for a few days, is likely to dip on Feb 6-7. On Sunday, the minimum temperature was 21.4°C (1.5° above normal) at the Colaba observatory and 21°C (3.5° above normal) at Santacruz. Weather enthusiasts said Mumbai is under the influence of warm and humid southerly winds, resulting in higher humidity and making one feel hotter than actual recordings. “This brief spell of hot and humid conditions will continue till Feb 3, gradually becoming more comfortable thereafter,” said independent forecaster Athreya Shetty. The day temperature at the Colaba and Santacruz stations was 31.6°C and 33.1°C, respectively. tnn
