Suspected explosives recovered from house in West Champaran
In Vriti Tola village, Bettiah, an air of fear settled over the community Saturday night when police uncovered suspicious explosive materials, including tubular objects and detonators. The items were reportedly tossed into the yard of a local resident by unidentified individuals. Authorities quickly secured the perimeter and initiated a technical analysis to ascertain the nature of the explosives.

Bettiah: Police recovered suspected explosive material from Vriti Tola village in Chautarwa police station area in West Champaran’s Bagaha police district on Saturday night, triggering panic among local residents.According to officials, unidentified miscreants allegedly hurled explosives in the courtyard of one Neeraj Rao. Acting on the information, a police team led by Bagaha SP Ramanand Kaushal and SDPO Kumar Devendra rushed to the spot and cordoned off the locality as a precautionary measure.Police recovered three tube-like objects suspected to be explosives from there. As a safety measure, the seized materials were later shifted to the premises of a nearby private school under strict security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident.“At first glance, the seized items appear to be explosives commonly used in mining activities. However, their exact nature and intensity will be confirmed after a detailed technical examination,” the SP said. He further added that the recovered items included three pieces of Class-2 explosive material, two silver-coloured detonators, and a device resembling an electric multimeter. A bomb disposal squad was deployed to examine the materials and neutralise them. Police have registered a case against unidentified persons.
