Hyderabad: Ahead of the municipal elections, Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Saturday projected the party as a credible alternative to the ruling Congress and BRS, saying the BJP will contest every urban local body in the state.Addressing a press conference, Rao said the BJP had entered the fray in all 116 municipalities and six municipal corporations, covering 2,996 wards and divisions, and that B-forms had already been issued to candidates. He claimed that voters in Telangana had increasingly placed their trust in the BJP in recent MLA, MLC, MP and even sarpanch elections.
“Both BRS and Congress are following the same path, continuing past scams and misusing the trust of the people. The administration in municipalities collapsed and development came to a halt in the past few years, and basic facilities were not provided in the urban local bodies,” Ramchander Rao said. Rao targeted the layout regularisation scheme, saying its implementation under the previous BRS govt caused distress to millions. He demanded completion of the LRS process within 15 days, cancellation and refund of fees, resolution of pending cases, and free implementation of the scheme to ensure justice, especially for poor and middle class families.
