Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board (UP Board) has issued a warning to students about fake question papers circulating on YouTube and other social media platforms related to the 2026 high school and intermediate examinations. The board is concerned that these unauthorized papers might mislead students, and has urged them to rely only on official study materials and announcements.The board has received multiple complaints about the alleged leak of UP pre-board examination papers and the sharing of other purported question papers online. Acting on these complaints, board secretary Bhagwati Singh has issued strict instructions to address the spread of unauthorised material.The secretary has directed social media platforms to immediately remove all misleading and unauthorised content related to board examinations, warning that failure to comply within the stipulated time would invite strict legal action.If any individual or organisation is found violating the rules by circulating fake examination content, criminal cases will be registered against them, he said. Under existing legal provisions, offenders may face penalties of up to Rs 15 lakh and a jail of up to 2 years.The board has urged students not to fall prey to misleading videos, posts, or claims regarding examination papers. Students have been advised to rely only on official notifications and information released through the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board’s official website and authorised communication channels.Officials have reiterated that the board has not released any pre-board or main examination question papers in advance, and any claims suggesting otherwise are false. The board said it is monitoring social media platforms to safeguard the interests of lakhs of students appearing in the 2026 examinations.The advisory has come amid heightened online activity ahead of Board exams, with authorities emphasising the need for vigilance to ensure that students remain focused on preparation rather than being distracted by unverified or fraudulent content.
