Kurukshetra: The Kurukshetra district police on Saturday claimed to have arrested a narcotics supplier in connection with the recovery of 2.11 kilograms of opium. The arrest was made by the crime investigation agency (CIA), Ladwa, under the supervision of Kurukshetra SP Nitish Aggarwal.The accused has been identified as Baljinder Singh, a resident of Barnala district in Punjab. He was arrested for allegedly supplying the recovered narcotic substance.The Kurukshetra police spokesperson said on Jan 15, acting on a secret input, the police team under the directions of the CIA Ladwa in-charge intercepted Sukhdev Singh, a resident of Chhiniwal in Punjab’s Barnala district, near Gumthala Garhu police post in Kurukshetra district, along with a canter bearing registration number PB-13 BS 9352. During a thorough search of the vehicle, the police recovered 2.11 kg of opium from the canter.Following the recovery, a case under the NDPS Act was registered at Pehowa Sadar police station, and Sukhdev Singh was arrested.During investigation, Baljinder Singh’s role as the supplier of the recovered opium came to light. Subsequently, on Jan 30, the CIA Ladwa team arrested him in the drug supply case, said the spokesperson.The accused was produced before the court as per legal procedure, the spokesperson added.MSID:: 127821400 413 |
