Varanasi: At least three sex workers from Kolkata were caught along with a man in a guest house under the Bhelupur police station area on Saturday afternoon.The operator of the guest house was also arrested in connection with the caseACP (Headquarters) Apurva Pandey said that the action followed an alert received on the CP Samvad helpline number 96707055, informing the police that immoral activities were allegedly being run in a room at a guest house House in Bhelupur area.Taking serious note of the information, a team of the Special Operation Group (SOG)-2 conducted a raid at the guest house. During the raid, police caught three women and a man. Several articles were also recovered from the spot, which, according to the police, established that immoral trade was being carried out there.The ACP said that further investigation was underway to ascertain how long the illegal activity had been taking place at the guest house and whether more people were involved.During questioning, the women told the police that they were sent to Varanasi from Kolkata. When asked about the person, who arranged their stay and activities, they said that a woman referred to as ‘Didi’ had sent them, though they did not disclose her identity.
