UP to host pharma conclave in Lucknow on Feb 3; CM Yogi to inaugurate

The Uttar Pradesh government will organise “Pharma Conclave 1.0: Investment Opportunities in Uttar Pradesh” on February 3 at Hotel Taj, Lucknow. The event is being jointly organised by the Uttar Pradesh Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) and Invest UP.Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the conclave. Union health minister JP Nadda will address the gathering through a video message. Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak and several cabinet and state ministers will also attend the event.According to FSDA secretary and commissioner Dr Roshan Jacob, the conclave aims to discuss investment opportunities in the pharmaceuticals and medical devices sector in Uttar Pradesh, with a focus on manufacturing, research, and innovation.Senior representatives from leading pharmaceutical companies will participate, including Ayodhya Rami Reddy (Ramco Group), Dilip Shanghvi (Sun Pharma), Ramesh Juneja (Mankind Pharma), Dr Satish Reddy (Dr Reddy’s Laboratories), Pankaj R Patel (Zydus Lifesciences), and Ginal Mehta (Torrent Pharmaceuticals). Executives from MSN Laboratories, Dabur, and Alkem are also expected to take part.The conclave is being supported by industry bodies such as the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance (IPA), Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association (IDMA), Bulk Drug Manufacturers Association of India (BDMAI), Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI), and the Federation of Pharma Entrepreneurs (FOPE).The event will include discussions on policy framework, incentives available under the Uttar Pradesh Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Industry Policy 2023, and the status of proposed projects, including the Bulk Drug Park in Lalitpur and the Medical Device Park in Greater Noida.
