Hyderabad: Burglars broke into the house of a grocery store owner in Bommaraspet on Thursday, under Shamirpet police station limits, and stole 20 tolas of gold and Rs 2 lakh in cash. The incident occurred at the house of K Ramesh. On Thursday, his wife went out to run some errands and he went to the grocery store in the afternoon.When he returned home at 8 pm, he found that the door latch had been broken. “The offenders forcibly opened the almirahs and stole 20 tola gold and Rs 2 lakh cash,” said Ramesh’s son, Nageshwar Rao. He lives with his family in Secunderabad and frequently visits his parents in Bommaraspet.Following the family’s complaint, the Shamirpet police rushed to the scene. A clues team visited the scene and collected fingerprints. Police also collected CCTV footage from different areas near the victim’s house. “We have some leads about the accused. Our team has launched a manhunt to catch the offenders,” said a Shamirpet police official.A case was registered under Sections 331 (4) (Lurking house-trespass or housebreaking by night to commit offence punishable with imprisonment) and 305 (Theft in a dwelling house, or means of transportation or place of worship, etc) of the BNS.
