“The project envisages a proposed investment of Rs 1,000 crore and marks a significant step towards strengthening green energy infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh. It also reflects our shared commitment to sustainable development and clean energy for the future,” Kumar said after the meeting with the delegation led by deputy governor Junichi Ishidera. Earlier on Wednesday, the delegation held meetings at Invest UP, where Industries and Infrastructure Development Commissioner Deepak Kumar led discussions with the group. An official spokesperson said that under the collaboration, there are plans to establish two Centres of Excellence for green hydrogen under the UP Green Hydrogen Policy–2024. These centres will focus on research, innovation, skill development and indigenous manufacturing, with one planned at HBTU Kanpur in collaboration with IIT Kanpur and another at MMMUT Gorakhpur with IIT (BHU). The visit was coordinated by Invest UP to strengthen investment ties between Yamanashi and Uttar Pradesh and to further deepen India–Japan cooperation in areas such as green hydrogen, renewable energy, infrastructure, tourism, and hospitality.
