Armed robbers shoot cloth merchant, escape with Rs 6 lakh in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Armed robbers opened fire on a cloth merchant in Koti and escaped with Rs 6 lakh in cash on Saturday morning. The victim sustained a bullet injury to his leg and is undergoing treatment at a local hospital. The victim, Rinshad, a native of Kerala, is in the cloth business and stays in Nampally. At around 7 am, he went to SBI’s Hyderabad Main Branch in Koti to deposit Rs 6 lakh. As he was about to approach the bank, two armed assailants, who were waiting nearby, opened fire on Rinshad and snatched his cash bag. They escaped from the spot on a two-wheeler, police said. Alerted by the bank’s security personnel, Sultan Bazar police rushed to the spot and shifted Rinshad to a nearby private hospital for treatment. DCP Khairatabad, Shilpavalli, visited the scene. The clues team collected forensic evidence from the spot, including a shell casing and blood-stain samples. A manhunt has been launched to nab the assailants
