Gandhinagar: Deputy chief minister Harsh Sanghavi on Friday chaired a meeting with sadhus, saints and Junagadh district administration officials in Gandhinagar to review arrangements for the Bhavnath Mahashivratri fair, which will be held from Feb 11 to 15 at the foothills of Girnar Hill in Junagadh district.While around 1,600 police personnel are usually deployed during the fair, the number increased to over 2,900 this year, an official statement said, adding that the entire fair area will be monitored through CCTV surveillance. The administration also made arrangements for parking, traffic management, accommodation facilities, including dormitories, drinking water, and sanitation facilities.Sanghavi said that the state govt is ensuring extensive arrangements for devotees and ascetics visiting the fair. To allow more devotees to witness the procession of the Naga sadhus, the traditional route was extended by 500 metres, increasing it from 1.5km to 2 km.
