Illegal construction by criminal razed during joint drive

New Delhi: An illegal construction belonging to a woman criminal was demolished during a joint drive by Municipal Corporation of Delhi and police in southeest Delhi’s Dabri on Friday.According to police, the house, located in JJ colony in Uttam Nagar, was demolished as part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal encroachments and properties linked to habitual offenders.

The property belonged to Alka, wife of Manoj Nagia, also a known offender with a long criminal history. Police records show that Alka was involved in more than 28 cases registered under Excise Act and Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act while Nagia had over 15 criminal cases.DCP (Dwarka) Ankit Singh said the demolition was a significant blow to organised crime and illegal encroachment in the area. “Such actions are aimed at dismantling the infrastructure that supports criminal networks,” he added.Police said other members of the family were also involved in criminal activities. Alka’s son, Karan, allegedly has seven cases under Excise and NDPS Acts while Gaurav alias Golu, another son, faces four cases under NDPS Act and Arms Act. Her daughter, Manisha, has three cases under Excise Act. TNN
