Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh’s Republic Day tableau won the 2nd prize in the popular choice category at the Republic Day parade in New Delhi.Based on the theme ‘Samriddhi ka Mantra – Atmanirbhar Bharat’, the UP tableau offered a blend of Bundelkhand’s rich cultural heritage and the state’s modern development journey. The award was presented at a ceremony held in Delhi on Friday, where minister of state for defence Sanjay Seth handed over the citation and memento to additional director of the UP information and public relations department, Arvind Kumar Mishra. A total of 30 tableaux from 17 states and Union Territories and 13 ministries and departments participated in this year’s Republic Day parade. The tableau drew widespread appreciation for its visual narrative, highlighting Bundelkhand’s historical legacy alongside contemporary symbols of growth. Prominent elements included rock art and the Ekamukha Lingam from the iconic Kalinjar Fort, reflecting the region’s ancient spiritual and cultural identity. The display also showcased Bundelkhand’s traditional crafts, such as pottery, bead work and handicrafts. Uttar Pradesh now received recognition for its Republic Day tableau for the 7th consecutive year. In previous years, the state secured top honours across jury and popular choice categories, including 1st prizes in 2021, 2022 and 2025, and 2nd prizes in multiple editions.
