Kota: Kota city police registered a case of abduction, taking hostage and robbery against 4-5 persons, including a police personnel and one another person Wednesday night.“The accused policeman has been identified as Manish Yadav, posted in RK Puram police station, and other accused have also been identified,” DSP and IO Yogesh Sharma said Friday.According to the report by victim Rajesh Kumar Sain, 4-5 men, including a police personnel and one Vijay Mali, allegedly stopped him while he was riding a bike with his friend Rajendra near Kota University on the night of Jan 20. The cop allegedly snatched his bag containing Rs 15,000 and golden and silver jewellery, and demanded Rs 1.50 lakh, threatening to frame him in a false case. Rajendra was sent to arrange the money, the report said.The victim alleged that 4-5 other persons arrived in a car, they held him hostage in the moving vehicle and thrashed him severely. He was later dropped on the highway near Nanta, according to the report.“On the direction of Kota city SP, police registered a case under section 140, 3 and 309(6) of BNS Wednesday night,” circle inspector Ramvilas said. Further investigation has been assigned to DSP Yogesh Sharma, he added. The robbed items have been recovered. The victim’s statements were recorded in the court Friday, he added.
