Man posts sexually coloured remarks about wife on Instagram

Surat: A 33-year-old woman has filed a complaint with Jahangirpura police accusing her husband of posting abusive and sexually coloured remarks about her on Instagram, police said.According to the FIR, the complainant, an advocate, married the accused in 2011 after the two fell in love. The couple have two children, aged 11 and four. The woman alleged that her husband was addicted to liquor, ganja and gambling, and had been demanding money from her and her relatives for several years to fund his habits.

She told police that she has been staying at her parents’ home since February 2025 following a domestic dispute. The woman further alleged that on Jan 23, her husband called her and asked her to return home by Jan 28, and threatened to kill the children if she did not comply.On Jan 29, the woman’s cousin informed her that the accused had posted an abusive Instagram story against her, questioning her character, and shared a screenshot of the post, the FIR stated.Based on the complaint, police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act.BoxTeen sexually assaulted by relative In another incident in Jahangirpura, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a relative, police said.According to the FIR, the girl lives with her parents in a society where the accused, her father’s brother-in-law, also stays in a different apartment. The incident occurred around 11.45pm on Jan 21 when the accused allegedly lured the girl by offering her a ride on his motorcycle. He then took her to a deserted place in Vesu and sexually assaulted her, the complaint stated.Police said the girl resisted and raised an alarm, after which the accused returned her to the society. She later informed her parents, who reported the matter to the police.Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Police said the accused fled to Uttar Pradesh and efforts are on to trace him.
