Bhojpur man kills uncle over petty issue, held
A shocking incident unfolded in Bhojpur district where a 22-year-old man, Collector Rai, allegedly bludgeoned his uncle, Madan Rai, to death with a spade. The brutal act was reportedly triggered by the uncle calling the nephew ‘lame’, a reference to a past disability. Police apprehended the accused within 24 hours, citing drug addiction as a contributing factor.

Ara: Police arrested a 22-year-old man accused of killing his uncle over a petty issue. According to police, the accused, Collector Rai, in a fit of rage beat up his uncle, Madan Rai, to death with a spade and it’s handle at Suraundha Tapu under Koilwar police station area of Bhojpur district on Thursday evening.Ara Sadar SDPO-II, Ranjit Kumar Singh, said on Friday: “On Thursday at about 6pm, the police were informed that a 32-year-old man Madan Rai was beaten to death by his 22-year-old nephew, Collector Rai, at Suraundha Tapu. Both the accused and his uncle were engaged as workers on the banks of the Sone river.”Giving further details, he said: “During investigation it came out that the accused, Collector, got infuriated when his uncle, Madan Rai, allegedly called him ‘lame’. Collector, who earlier worked as a truck driver, became disabled in 2015 when he met with a road accident. Offended by being called a ‘lame’, in a fit of rage he brought a spade from his nearby house and hit his uncle with its wooden handle, killing him on the spot.”“Within 24 hours of the incident, the police arrested Collector,” said the SDPO. Further investigation revealed that Collector is a drug addict and he often indulged in quarrels with his co-workers and family members.
