Panchkula: The detective staff of Panchkula police cracked a theft case within 48 hours with the arrest of three habitual offenders accused of breaking into a kothi in Pinjore and stealing valuables.ACP (crime) Arvind Kamboj said a complaint was filed on Jan 26 at Madhawala police post by a Panchkula resident, who reported that his firm operates from a kothi in Khokra village. He had locked the premises on Jan 22 before leaving town, but during his absence, unidentified persons broke open the lock and stole a laptop and other items. A theft case was subsequently registered at Pinjore police station.
During the investigation, police arrested Nitin Kumar of Peepal Ghat, Dheeraj Kumar of Rampur Jangi and Abhishek alias Gujjar of Barad village on Jan 28. A laptop, five domestic LPG cylinders and Rs 20,000 — proceeds from the sale of stolen borewell wires and other articles — were recovered from them.After completing legal formalities, the three accused were produced in court Thursday and sent to judicial custody.
