The barrier laundry system has a strict physical separation between the dirty zone (infected linen) and the clean zone (washed linen). This prevents cross-contamination and significantly reduces the risk of hospital-acquired infections. The plant is equipped with world-class machines and follows international standards for washing and infection control. It is expected to play a key role in improving hygiene and patient safety across KGMU and its associated hospitals. The project was implemented under the leadership of registrar Archana Geharwar (IAS), chief medical superintendent Dr BK Ojha, medical superintendent Dr Suresh Kumar, and nodal officer Dr Pragya Pandey.
