Chandigarh: An unidentified person stole the gate of Govt Home Science College (GHSC), Sector 10, Wednesday, prompting the Sector 3 police to register a theft case and launch an investigation.The complaint was filed by the college watchman, Satnam Singh, a resident of Mullanpur, Mohali. He told police he has been working at the college for the past two years and was on duty from 2pm to 10pm on Jan 28.
According to the complaint, Satnam found the old D-gate intact around 6pm while patrolling near the Sector 16/10/11/15 intersection. However, when he passed the spot again around 6.30pm, the gate had been removed by unknown persons. He immediately informed the college authorities.A formal complaint was then lodged at the Sector 3 police station. After verifying the facts, police registered a theft case and are now examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the accused. No arrests have been made so far.
