Gurgaon: The district administration has received more than 1,20,000 applications for the allotment of 6,743 affordable houses reserved for people from the economically weaker section (EWS).The 1-BHK flats, priced at Rs 1.5 lakh each, are located in private developers’ colonies and highrise societies, offering beneficiaries access to organised residential facilities. The booking process began on Thursday in Gurgaon to provide dignified housing to low-income families and ensure their integration into planned urban neighbourhoods under the Chief Minister Urban Housing Scheme of the Haryana govt. Deputy commissioner Ajay Kumar, said a total of 12,384 applications were received by the corporation.Of these, 4,728 applications were found correct during the first-phase of verification process. The second-phase of verification will begin once the applicants deposit the booking amount of Rs 10,000, within a week of receiving the communication. Beneficiaries found eligible in the second phase will be included in the draw process and will have to deposit the remaining amount of Rs 1.4 lakh. The booking amount will be refunded to applicants who do not get an allotment in the draw. ADC Sonu Bhatt, who is also the nodal officer of the scheme in the district, said the allotment of the reserved flats is being done completely transparently and all details related to the scheme are available on the Haryana govt’s website. He urged eligible applicants to deposit the booking amount within the prescribed date and participate in the next process, so that they can get housing benefits on time.He also appealed to the public to remain alert about the possibility of cyber fraud during the process.
