PMAY subsidy is released by Central Nodal Agencies (CNAs) based on the disbursements made by Primary Lending Institutions (PLIs) to the beneficiaries. For example, let us assume that a borrower has taken a loan of Rs 6 lakh and the subsidy on this amount amounts to Rs 2.20 lakh. In such a case, the amount of Rs 2.20 lakh will be deducted from the loan in advance i.e. now the loan amount will become Rs 3.80 lakh. Now the beneficiary will have to pay EMI on the amount of Rs 3.80 lakh only.
