Jio-bp has introduced a new petrol powered by what it calls Engine-Cleaning ACTIVE Technology, claiming it can help motorists drive up to 100 km extra every year without paying anything more at the fuel station. The fuel was unveiled at India Energy Week 2026 in Goa on January 29.

More kms in the same amount of fuel! How it happens

According to the company, the new petrol goes beyond basic engine protection and focuses on actively cleaning existing deposits from critical engine components. These deposits, which build up over time, can affect engine smoothness, efficiency and long-term reliability. By removing them, the fuel aims to restore engine performance and help vehicles extract more distance from the same amount of fuel.Jio-bp says the benefits are based on typical Indian driving patterns for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers. The claimed annual gain of up to 100 km comes from improved engine efficiency and smoother operation, all delivered at no extra cost compared to regular petrol.

The fuel has been developed using bp’s global research capabilities and has undergone extensive testing under Indian conditions. To demonstrate its real-world effectiveness, Jio-bp ran a motorcycle for over 4,000 km at the Coimbatore test track, comparing it against a bike using regular petrol. The results, including visible differences in engine cleanliness shown through borescope imaging, were showcased at the company’s stall during the event.Alongside the fuel launch, Jio-bp also displayed its wider mobility portfolio at India Energy Week, including EV charging solutions, aviation turbine fuel, doorstep diesel delivery and future-ready gaseous fuels.
