Agartala: A 13-year-old boy died after setting himself on fire in public on Thursday at Melaghar in Tripura’s Sepahijala district.The deceased, identified as Pradip Saha, poured kerosene on himself. He was taken to GB Pant Hospital in Agartala, where he later died.
Sources said the incident followed an argument between Pradip and his father, Nayan, while the duo was returning from the market. Sources said a man identified as Dipak Sutradhar, who overheard the altercation, abused and slapped Pradip in public for quarreling with his father.Locals alleged that Pradip, facing public humiliation, took this extreme step.Police said the matter is under investigation.
