Gurgaon: A truck driver allegedly attacked a Ghaziabad family travelling in a car with an iron rod following a collision on Delhi-Jaipur highway on Sunday.According to a complaint lodged by Varun Garg with Bilaspur police station, the incident took place near the Sidhrawali flyover when he was returning home with his family after visiting Salasar Balaji. No one was injured. An FIR was registered at Bilaspur police station under sections 281 (rash driving), 125 (endangering human life), 324(4) (mischief), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of the BNS.Varun said that as his car — a Kia Carens — crossed the flyover, the truck bearing registration number RJ09GC5177 came at high speed and hit the driver-side window of his vehicle. When Garg signalled the truck driver to stop, the latter attempted to flee. Garg managed to stop the truck a short distance away, after which the driver allegedly stepped out, picked up the rod from the vehicle and struck the car’s bonnet and windscreen. A police officer said, “When Garg objected to the damage, the truck driver tried to attack him with the rod. His driver, Deepak Chaudhary, intervened and prevented the assault. The accused also pushed Chaudhary, hurled abuses and issued threats before fleeing the spot in the truck.”
