3 days after seizing car of ‘Boxer gang’, cops recover pistol hidden in it

Jaisalmer: Police in Hanumangarh Tuesday recovered a foreign-made Glock pistol hidden in a Punjab-registered Scorpio car that was seized after 188 grams of heroin were found in it during a search on Jan 24, superintendent of police Harishankar said. The three men in the vehicle who were arrested on Jan 24 were planning to take revenge for the murder of Golu Pandit, a member of the Vishal Pachar alias ‘Boxer’ gang, the SP said.The Glock pistol was not detected in the initial search and was recovered following interrogation of the arrested men, the SP said. On Jan 24, a joint team of anti-gangster task force (AGTF) and Hanumangarh Junction police station had intercepted the Scorpio and arrested its three occupants: Bobby Chhajgiriya (25), Ajay Kamboj (25), and Rahul alias Sahil (18), all residents of Punjab. Police said 188 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession, after which the vehicle was seized and parked at the police station.During investigation it emerged that the trio had links with the Vishal Pachar alias Boxer gang. Police later arrested the owner of the seized Scorpio along with two other accused and interrogated them. The accused allegedly disclosed their involvement in inter-state drug trafficking and arms smuggling. The SP said Vishal Pachar alias Boxer is a native of Sriganganagar district and has been hiding abroad for a long time. He said a total of six accused have been arrested in this case under NDPS Act since Jan 24.
