A Mandurah teacher who became pregnant with her former student after abusing him for more than a year has been banned from the profession.
Naomi Tekea Craig pleaded guilty to 15 charges, including sexual penetration of the boy when he was just 12, on Tuesday.
According to Craig’s former employer and the Teacher Registration Board, her career is now over.
The 33-year-old was a popular music teacher at Frederick Irwin’s Halls Head and Meadow Springs’ campuses, teaching under the surname Woods since 2024.
Craig completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at The University of Western Australia before earning a Diploma of Education at Edith Cowan University.

It is understood that Craig worked as a private music teacher before getting a dream job at Frederick Irwin, one of Mandurah’s most prestigious primary schools.
Craig was on maternity leave when she was initially charged with two counts of sexual penetration of a child over 13 and under 16, persistent sexual conduct with a child under 16 and possessing child exploitation material.
On January 6, Frederick Irwin sent a newsletter to parents and carers after the offending was revealed to the public, stating the victim was no longer a student at the school.
The letter also said Craig had been suspended from duty “pending the outcome of the police investigation and any prosecution.”
A spokesperson for Frederick Irwin Anglican School told The West on Thursday that Craig was no longer employed by the school.
The Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia also confirmed her registration was cancelled.
This comes after Craig pleaded guilty to the aforementioned charges on Tuesday, plus a further 11 offences, including five counts of sexual penetration of a child under 13, two counts of sexually penetrating a child aged 13 to 16 and indecent dealings with a child under 13, indecently dealing with a child under her authority, and possessing child exploitation material.
Charges were updated after Craig gave birth to her second child on January 8.
It is understood that DNA testing of a sample from her placenta found a link between the newborn and her victim, who was just 12 when Craig became pregnant.
Shockingly, it was also revealed in court that Craig’s last contact with the victim occurred on December 16, just one day before her first court appearance.
Craig’s brazen behaviour throughout the pregnancy continued as she spent her last days of freedom posing for “glamour” maternity shoots.
A series of professional photos showed the married mother posing in tracksuit pants with a small top covering her chest.
Other shots featured the mum-of-two in a leopard-print two-piece and unzipped zebra-inspired jeans, with one photographer even branding her an “absolute bombshell.”
A set of photos was uploaded on December 7, less than ten days before she last abused her young victim.
Craig is currently on bail but is banned from unsupervised contact with any child under 18, except for her newborn.
