Ahmedabad: A 35-year-old woman has approached Vastrapur police, alleging assault, intimidation, and threats to circulate her private photographs and videos on social media following a dispute with a man she was in a relationship with.According to the complaint, the woman lived alone in the Bodakdev area for nearly two decades and managed a PG facility as her source of income. She stated that she came into contact with the accused during a visit outside Ahmedabad in Feb 2025, after which they remained in touch through phone calls and social media. Over time, the two developed a close relationship. The woman alleged that she later learnt the man was married and had children, but continued the relationship based on his assurances that he was not on good terms with his spouse. During this period, they travelled together and exchanged photographs and videos, which were stored on personal devices. Trouble began in Dec 2025 when the accused allegedly demanded money from the woman to purchase a two-wheeler. When she refused, stating she did not have the funds, the man allegedly abused her, assaulted her, and issued threats. The situation escalated further in early Jan when he again demanded money and, on being refused, allegedly threatened her with dire consequences. On Jan 11, the accused allegedly made a WhatsApp call late at night and sent her private photographs, threatening to circulate them on social media and among her friends. She said that similar threats continued, causing her mental distress and fear of reputational harm. Vastrapur police have registered an FIR.
