Jaisalmer: Four senior officers from Rajasthan are among those from the Indian Air Force, Army, Border Security Force and Central Industrial Security Force approved for awards by President Droupadi Murmu on the eve of the 77th Republic Day.Group Captain Amit Dubey (VSM), Air Force Station Commander at the Jaisalmer air base, has been selected for the Yudh Seva Medal for showing “indomitable courage,” combat skills, extraordinary valour and leadership during Operation Sindoor on June 7 and 8, 2025, when large-scale drone attacks were launched from Pakistan’s side of the border. Under his leadership, personnel at Jaisalmer Air Force Station are credited with foiling hundreds of drone attacks through swift operational decisions, securing the air base and adjoining border areas.Major General Ashish Khurana, General Officer Commanding of the Army’s Battle X Division in Jaisalmer , has been announced for the Vishisht Seva Medal. The award recognises his role in Operation Sindoor, efforts to strengthen military preparedness during the operation, and the successful organisation of the Army Commanders’ Conference attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.DIG Mahesh Kumar Negi, Sector South, BSF, Jaisalmer, has been selected for the President Medal for Meritorious Service for long-term, dedicated and excellent service in securing the international border.Navjyoti Gogoi, an IPS officer of the Rajasthan cadre currently on deputation as Inspector General in CISF, has also been announced for the President’s Commendation Service Medal for long-term, dedicated and excellent service.
