Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday issued a stern warning to officials, directing them to act swiftly against illegal land encroachments and ensure that strongmen and land mafia are dealt with firmly. He said anyone found usurping another’s property would face stringent legal action and no offender would be spared.Addressing the people’s grievances at weekly janata darshan at Gorakhnath temple, the CM said the state govt was committed to delivering justice and prosperity to every citizen. “Those who occupy land illegally or harass the weak must be taught a lesson,” he said, stressing zero tolerance towards encroachment.The CM personally interacted with around 150 complainants at Mahant Digvijaynath Smriti Bhawan, listening to their problems one by one. He forwarded applications to concerned officials with clear instructions for prompt and satisfactory redressal, assuring people that injustice would not be allowed during his tenure.Taking serious note of complaints related to land disputes, he directed administrative and police officers to ensure complete removal of encroachments and warned that no strongman should dare to grab another’s land. On family and matrimonial disputes raised by several women, he asked officials to prioritise dialogue and counselling, while ensuring legal action if required.People seeking financial aid for medical treatment were assured full support, with instructions to expedite estimates so that funds could be transferred directly to hospitals.Earlier, the CM visited the temple gaushala, where he affectionately interacted with cows, calling them by name and feeding them jaggery and rotis. He also interacted with children visiting the temple, distributed chocolates and performed annaprashan of two toddlers.
