If you are one of the families falling under BPL and PSU category in the state of Uttar Pradesh, then you can apply for electricity connection through Jhatpat Connection Yojana. This scheme, promoted by the Power Corporation, provides the facility of getting electricity meter installed at the convenience of both people living below and above the poverty line. This scheme was launched in March 2019, targeting the residents below the state poverty line. For the first time, you can get a loan of just ₹ 10 under the BPL category!Whereas for APL category, ₹ 100 has to be paid for 1 to 25 kilowatts. The primary objective of Uttar Pradesh Jhatpat Connection Yojana is to provide electricity connection to the total poor families in the state who struggle to afford it. Earlier citizens had to go to government offices and face many hassles in this process!
As a result of which, there were often delays in important matters and sometimes it even took months. To apply for this scheme, documents like Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Ration Card should be included. There should not be any electricity connection in your name already nor should there be any pending result of the electricity department.
