Ahmedabad: Khadia police on Tuesday busted an illegal MCX ‘dabba trading’ or underground stocks trading operation in the old city area through mobile apps and arrested a man working at a bullion shop in this connection. According to the police complaint filed, a surveillance squad from Khadia police station received specific input on Tuesday about illegal trading activities being carried out at a shop in Gusa Parekh ni Pol.During the raid, police found Bhupesh Shah (44), a resident of Sabarmati and a shop employee present. On checking a mobile phone found on the table, officers discovered the MetaTrader 5 application being used for illegal trading.Police said two trading IDs were active on the phone. During questioning, Shah admitted that one ID was being used by him for dabba trading, the other was used by the shop’s owner, and another associate. He also named intermediaries who allegedly supplied the trading IDs. An on-the-spot search led to the seizure of a mobile phone valued at around Rs 10,000 and Rs 2,130 in cash. An FIR was registered against five persons under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the IT Act and the Gambling Act. tnn
